I am drawn to the beauty and drama of the natural world, especially its birds and wildlife. I am most content being outdoors, marveling at the wildlife, landscapes, and changing light around me. Photography gives me a way to capture and share that world. Creating a worthy photograph, particularly of birds and wildlife, requires patience, persistence, and a deep appreciation for the subject. I find great satisfaction in those moments when light, behavior, and composition come together to create images that are both visually compelling and faithful to the scene.
My travels have taken me across the United States and around the world, including to Africa, Southeast Asia, Canada, Central and South America, Iceland, Europe, and the British Isles. Each has deepened my appreciation for the richness and diversity of the natural world. Through my photographs, I strive to convey both the beauty and the story of what I have witnessed. I very much hope, too, that my photographs inspire viewers to protect and preserve the habitats on which wildlife depends.
